Just visited this rest area and it was dirty and disgusting. No toilet paper, none of the toilets were flushed. Very unsanitary and gross!
I've always found the bathrooms to be clean; it's big rest area that is well taken care of. The visitor's center offers plenty of information for travelers, but note that it's not open for all the same hours that the rest area is.
This is the beginning to the gateway to Northern Michigan. There are brochures after brochures. There is plenty of room so the bathrooms are never over-crowded and it has loads of information. For pet owners, don't fret, there is plenty of space for dogs and your kids alike (jk about the kids haha).
My family stopped at the rest area and Nicole in the tourism office was extremely helpful
